Hardware knowledge hall: the difference between hot runner mold and traditional mold
| 2014-11-21

Hot runner mold is so widely used, mainly because it has the incomparable advantages of traditional molds:

1. Shorten the molding cycle of parts. Because there is no cooling time limitation of the runner system, the part can be ejected in time after it is formed and solidified. The molding cycle of many thin-walled parts produced by hot runner molds can be less than 5 seconds;

2. Save plastic raw materials. There is no cold runner in the pure hot runner mold, so there is no production cost. This is especially significant for reducing raw material costs. In fact, the major hot runner manufacturers in the world have achieved rapid development in the era of expensive oil and plastic raw materials in the world. Because hot runner technology is an effective way to reduce material cost and material cost;

3. Reduce waste and improve product quality. During the hot runner mold forming process, the plastic melt temperature is accurately controlled in the runner system. Plastic flows more uniformly into each cavity, resulting in consistent quality parts. In addition, the gate quality of the parts formed by the hot runner is good, the residual stress after demolding is low, and the deformation of the parts is small. Therefore, many high-quality products on the market are produced by hot runner molds;

4. Eliminate subsequent processes, which is conducive to production automation. The finished product is the finished product after being formed by the hot runner mold, and there is no need to trim the gate and recycle and process the cold runner. Conducive to production automation;

5. Expand the application scope of injection molding process. Many advanced plastic molding processes are developed on the basis of hot runner technology.
