On August 27, the National Bureau of Statistics released the profits of industrial enterprises above designated size from January to July this year. The total profit of my country's automobile manufacturing industry from January to July was 282.24 billion yuan, a year-on-year decrease of 23.2%.


Data show that from January to July this year, the operating income of the automobile manufacturing industry was 4,465.95 billion yuan, down 5.7% year-on-year; the operating cost was 3,788.76 billion yuan, down 4.7% year-on-year.


Zhu Hong, a senior statistician at the Industrial Department of the National Bureau of Statistics, said that in July, petrochemicals, electrical machinery, and automobiles were the main industries that drove profit growth from negative to positive. Among them, the automobile manufacturing industry was affected by the low base in the same period, and its profits fell by 9.2%, a decrease of 7.0 percentage points.
