On May 21, the 12th Chengdu International Automotive Parts and Aftermarket Services Exhibition (CAPAS) opened at the Chengdu Century City New International Convention and Exhibition Center. Themed "Integration, Sharing, Trends," this year's exhibition covers an area of 53,000 square meters, bringing together 805 domestic and international enterprises. Alongside 27 concurrent supporting events, it welcomes 56 global buyer delegations to showcase comprehensive advancements across the entire automotive industry chain.

Opening Ceremony Event  

 

At the opening ceremony and China Automotive Ecosystem Partners Conference, Fan Jun, Vice President of the Sichuan Provincial Council for the Promotion of International Trade, stated that this year's exhibition highlights full-chain after-market services and cross-sector integration with cultural tourism, focusing on intelligent connected vehicles as a core track, and promoting trade-industry integration to accelerate the development of the world-class automotive industrial cluster in Sichuan and Chongqing. Li Jianjun, Special Assistant to the President of the Automobile Industry Branch of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, pointed out that China's automotive overseas expansion has entered a higher level of global layout, with advantages in electrification and intelligence becoming increasingly evident. Yu Guang, General Manager of Messe Frankfurt (Shanghai) Co., Ltd., emphasized that the exhibition is committed to building an efficient, green, and intelligent new supply chain ecosystem.

 

Guests at the Peak Dialogue session unanimously agreed that automotive aftermarket exports are shifting from product export to systematic export of design, technology, standards, and services, requiring compliance as the foundation for industry development.

Exhibition Site  

Having undergone three iterations, the exhibition has evolved from a single-component showcase into a comprehensive industry platform covering entire vehicle manufacturing, core components, new energy, and after-sales markets.  

 

This years event features seven specialized zones: Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Circle, New Energy and Intelligent Connected Vehicles, Parts Procurement and Distribution, Warranty Chain Stores, Tires, and Commercial Vehicles. Passenger car brands such as Changan, Dongfeng Voyah, and Geely Galaxy, along with commercial vehicle brands including Liuzhou Automobile Chenglong and FAW Jiefang (6.260, 0.21, 3.47%), have gathered to present their new-energy models. Exhibitors from Italy, Germany, Japan, and other countries have also joined in national pavilions, further elevating the event's international profile.  

 

City and Prefecture Participation Drives Cluster Effects  

Reporters observed that 16 city and prefecture delegations participated in the exhibition. Nanchong and Guang'an highlighted electric commercial vehicle supply chains; Yibin focused on battery technology innovation; while Ziyang showcased breakthroughs in hydrogen energy technology.  

 

Additionally, Chengdu and Chongqing jointly established an over-2,000-square-meter intelligent connected vehicles exhibition hall, showcasing cutting-edge technologies such as core powertrains, autonomous driving, and automotive chips, seizing opportunities presented by the development of the Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Circle and the transformation of the automotive industry.  

 

Targeted Support Fuels Deep Integration of Trade and Industry  

The exhibition maintains an integrated "exhibition + conference" model, hosting key events including the "2026 Third Chengdu-Chongqing Automotive Industry Chain Ecosystem Cooperation Conference," the "Supplier-Customer Closed-door Matching Meeting," and the "2026 International Automotive Industry Education and Talent Development Conference." It also welcomes overseas visitors from Australia, Russia, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, South Korea, Saudi Arabia, and other regions, as well as buyer delegations from emerging markets such as the UAE, Pakistan, Brazil, and Mexico. Specialized activitiesincluding invited buyer matchmaking sessions and overseas procurement missions visiting Sichuanwill be organized to promote precise supply-demand alignment, injecting strong momentum into high-quality development of the Southwest automotive industry.  

 

The exhibition runs for three days, concluding on May 23.
